The Iliad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid: Three Great Works of Poetry and Art

Introduction

For many years, the great works, called The Iliad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid, have been read and loved by many. What you are about to read is my essay on these three great works. The Iliad and The Odyssey are both made by the Greek poet Homer, while The Aeneid is written by the Roman poet Virgil. Lots of people call them a trilogy, and I personally agree with them because The Iliad features the Trojan war, while The Odyssey has the aftermath of the Trojan War from the Greek point of view and The Aeneid has it from the Trojan point of view. This trilogy features some of the best stories in ancient history and maybe even today. They each capture detail in their own way and they are each a different type of story plot. The Iliad is basically like a war story with battles and tactics, The Odyssey is an adventure story with journeys and beasts and The Aeneid is a sort of mix of a war and adventure story. In this essay, there will be a summary of each of these works, along with a commentary, followed by the ending.
